ESPOO - Finnish biotechnology innovator NordShield has launched a new disruptive technology which provides textiles, including garments, shoes and gloves, with a biodegradable antimicrobial layer which continues to work for at least 30 washes.
NordShield claims its BioLayr technology offers durable 99 per cent antiviral and antibacterial protection in everyday use for longer than the lifetime of the average garment.
Unlike rival products, it does not contain heavy metals, such as silver and copper, which threaten the environment by leaching into nature, and even into humans through skin exposure.
