ISTANBUL - The imminent recovery of international trade offers enormous opportunities for cooperation between Turkish textiles firms and foreign partners, according to Ahmet Öksüz, president of the Istanbul Textile and Raw Materials Exporters Association (ITRME). He notes that Turkey is recognised as the world’s fifth largest supplier of textiles, and claims the country can expect to export in the region of US$12 billion worth of textiles, potentially reaching to $30 billion in 2021 when sales including from the apparel industry are factored in.
