NEW HAVEN - US startup Protein Evolution (PEI) claims to have developed technology capable of transforming textile and mixed-plastic waste into an infinitely reusable resource.
Protein Evolution designs enzymes which are able to break down end-of-life textile and plastic waste into the building blocks that make up new textile and plastic products.
The company is backed by a US$20 million funding round led by Collaborative Fund’s climate fund, Collab SOS, recently launched in partnership with Stella McCartney.
