HERZOGENAURACH – Sportswear brand Adidas has developed a new method of constructing footwear uppers using custom software and robotics.
The company’s new ‘Futurecraft.Strung’ technology quickly places thousands of yarns in a pre-programmed construction dictated by where a runner needs more and less support.
“We can work and place yarns in any direction, allowing us to create a dynamic textile,” says Andrea Nieto, an innovation designer at Adidas.
