LATHAM – Material innovator Primaloft has been recognised with the Derryck Draper Award at this year’s Outdoor Writers and Photographers Guild (OWPG) for its PURE technology.
The US firm launched PURE – which stands for ‘Produced Using Reduced Emissions’ – back in 2019. It uses air, as opposed to heat, to stabilise insulation during the thermal bonding process and subsequently eliminates the CO2 conventional methods cause.
In October, the firm reported that its further improved the sustainability credentials of its manufacturing technology, meaning it now cuts 70 per cent of emissions, up from 48 per cent.
