WILMINGTON - US chemicals giant DuPont has launched a new product - Kevlar EXO - which it claims is the most significant aramid fibre innovation in over 50 years.

Aramid fibres are a class of heat-resistant and strong synthetic fibres which are used in aerospace and military applications, including ballistic-rated body armour.

Kevlar EXO is designed to contour to curves and body lines, and, according to Dupont, offers previously unavailable levels of ballistic protection with unmatched lightness and flexibility.
