NEW YORK – A US experimental design firm has won the 2017 Museum of Modern Art’s Young Architecture Program competition, with their proposal of a futuristic shelter made from knitted textile solar panels.
The ‘Lumen’ project from Jenny Sabin Studio is described as being a “knitted light” structure that can offer a cooling microclimate during the day, and an immersive, glowing environment at night – using energy collected from the sun.
