SOUTH CAROLINA – International textile chemicals business Solvay has opened a new carbon fibre manufacturing line at its US facility in South Carolina, subsequently doubling its production capacity. The move will allow aircraft manufacturer Boeing to produce on-site secondary plane structures using Solvay’s carbon fibre reinforced polymer (CFRP) materials – such as wing flaps, engine nacelles, and interior applications.
