NORTH CAROLINA – A study published in Infection Control and Hospital Epidemiology has suggested that conventional nurse uniforms are not preventing bacterial contamination in hospitals. Researchers from Duke University Hospital in North Carolina studied 40 nurses and 3 different types of uniforms, while they worked 12 hour shifts. Bacterial swabs were taken from their clothing before and after their shifts for comparison.
