ZURICH – Scientists have developed a thin and flexible battery - that can be stretched, bent and twisted - which they say could be used in smart clothing.

The battery was developed by Professor Markus Niederberger and his research team at ETH Zurich, the Swiss science, technology, engineering and mathematics university.

It was designed with foldable phones in mind but the researchers say it could also be used to power bendable electronics in smart clothing, as well as rollable displays on computers, smartwatches and tablets.
