ATLANTA – Last week, flatbed knitting machinery company, Stoll and technology solutions firm, Myant announced that they would pool their capabilities to create a new Digital Textile Factory 4.0.
Live from this year’s Techtextil and Texprocess North Americas trade shows, T.EVO speaks with Myant CEO, Tony Chahine, to find out more about this new innovation platform which will offer entrepreneurs, start-ups and academic institutes the chance to accelerate the development of industry-wide textile technologies.
“I think we’re on the cusp of a major disruption because technology and textiles are finally merging,” predicts Chahine. “It is very similar to 2007, when the smartphone industry showed up and consolidated a lot of stand-alone features… we see the same thing happening in 2018, so through our partnership with Stoll we can make this [textile technology] a new category.”
