OBERTSHAUSEN – Textile machinery specialist Karl Mayer has launched a new project with a focus on developing functional e-textiles by integrating conductive yarns directly into its warp knitting processes.
The ‘Textile-circuit’ project has been started with the ambition of creating textiles capable of heating, cooling and lighting. The company also hopes to yield fabrics that can actively measure the heart rate of a person, and can be launched into space for use as space reflectors.
